Everyday Hand Care Tips

How to take care of the hardest working parts, and make it soft, smooth and youthful for years to come. Like your face, your hands work as a bridge to the world.

You shake hands when you meet or greet someone for the first time and when you seal a deal. Your hands express emotion, soothe those who are suffering or whenever you are interacting; your hands will probably spend some time in the spotlight.

In short, you use your hands all the time, from complex maneuvers to lowly chores. So, it is pretty obvious how important it is to take care of your hands.

Let’s get started with how to take care of your hands.

 Clean your hands properly

For the best result, use an antibacterial soap and warm water for washing your hands. However, make sure the water isn’t scolding hot. Start by rinsing your hands and apply a nickel size amount of soap. Rub your hands together for at least 20 seconds. Don’t forget to properly cleanse between your knuckles, on the back of your hands, your fingern

ails etc.

 Moisturize your hands regularly

Wash your hands frequently during the day, as they become dry quickly. So, you should moisturize your hands at least 3-4 times a day. For day time use, you should choose a light water based and fast absorbing moisturizing hand lotion. On t

he other hand, a heavier oil-based cream is for night time.

 Massage your hands

While applying hand lotion on your hands, give them a quick massage as well. You can start with the fleshy part of your hand near the base of the thumb and then work each finger from base to tip.

 Use Sunscreen regularly

Sun exposure can cause spots and wrinkles on your hands and make them look older than your age. To avoid that, apply sun lotion or sun-block cream before you go out in the sunlight. Always keep a travel size tube of sun screen in your bag handy, so that you can use it whenever you have to go out in the sun unexpectedly. Or if you can’t get your hands on a sun screen, you can also use moisturizer with SPF 15 or more.

 Exfoliate your hands

Gently rub the back of your hands with salt or sugar for about 20 seconds and rinse with cold water. The salt will scrape the dead skin cells, and improve blood circulation, making your hands soft and glowing. You can also use facial exfoliate on the thin-skinned part of your hands.

 Take care of your nails

Nails being a part of your hand, it is very important that you take care of your cuticles and nails as well. Apply a gentle nail-specific oil to repair dry, jagged cuticles and to strengthen your nails making them look good when they are naked.

The above mentioned hand care tips will take only few minutes of your time but will leave your hands skin tight, soft looking, supple and young.
