Traditional Lehengas, A Choice Of Modern Women

Ladies love to present themselves in style and elegance. Lehenga is one of the prime choices of ladies to get themselves smart, comfortable and beautiful. It is not exactly but a kind of substitute to saree.

In both occasions—formal or informal—it has been gaining popularity and leaving deep impression in Indian subcontinent weddings irrespective of region, religion or time.  It is worn as a three piece outfit. A skirt starting from the waistline (just below the navel) and running till toes, a blouse and a dupatta to be worn around the neck or as a shoulder drape.

A well-crafted lehenga choli is the most sought outfit for weddings and other traditional events. This is because the dress is versatile and easy. It is well appreciated by everyone—from the mother of a bride to a three year old baby girl.

Wedding lehengas are the most popular ones. Res, maroon and pink are the most preferred colors of lehengas. No other traditional outfit can match the elegance of this attire (lehenga). Probably, this is the reason for having bridal lehengas at the top of any wedding shopping list.

Lehenga is a must have outfit for every women in the country at present. As stated earlier, it is so easy and versatile that fits well in any kind of function. The lehenga and choli should complement each other. Despite the fact comfort is the key factor that the attire has to deliver.

Though the lehengas are known as a ready to wear outfit, not every lehenga choli suits every occasion or every body type. Indian women have different body shapes. Hence, they need particular type of lehenga as per their body shape and size.

For instance, an A style lehenga has its skirt designed in the shape of Alphabet A. It is more or less fitted on the waist and gets flared in shape of a cone as it reaches the hem giving the body a triangular or A shape which is a great option for someone with a pear shaped body. It suggested to pait it with a princess cut choli.

Apple shaped body with ample bust, round stomach and slimmer hips should wear dress with lower neckline and floaty skirt that skims down the waist. Avoid buying lehengas with heavy embroidery on the bust area. It is best to choose lehenga choli with flat embroidery work which will make you look thinner.

Rectangle shaped body goes in parallel shape from shoulder to hips to waist. They are slender. You can wear lehengas with high necks and heavy detailing. You could wear lehengas that are perfectly fitted at the waist to make your body look not so parallel.

Hourglass shaped bodies mean proportionate curve with same bust and hip size and a slim waist. All women love to be in this shape.  Women with this body type can wear all types of lehengas.

So, these were the tips to choose a lehenga as per the body type. Hope, you get the clue and will choose the best bridal lehenga for you. However, you should also consider the color, design and work on the lehenga before purchasing the best one for you.
